As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of working alongside Cat Couper on several occasions, and I must say, she is an exceptional wedding officiant. Our first encounter was for her daughter’s wedding, where she officiated the ceremony. Review: MN Weddings by Cat. We loved Cat. She was nice and was always on time for our meetings. She went above and beyond what she said and quoted us! Because we weren’t the “Normal Couple” as the world would say! She didn’t blink an eye or seem to care that we were the same sex couple, and that’s not what I got from other places we called, which was crazy to me! Additionally, we added an extra service the next day for our throuple, which is not legal in the state of Minnesota, but she put together a beautiful commitment ceremony. We love Cat, and I will send everyone I know her way. #catrocks

Cat was literally the perfect choice for an officiant. She truly listened to what we wanted. She took the time to really get to know us as a couple. Answered every question and was more than willing to change things up for us. We felt so supported and cared about through the whole process. We ended up combining a couple scripts and a handfasting. I was worried it was going to be too long and that I wanted too much but she assured me it would be the perfect amount of time and she was right! It flowed beautifully and wasn’t too long at all! It was so special and perfect. I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better! She was and still is a blessing.

Cat did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding. She was very easy to work with, very personable, very flexible, and made our ceremony run smoothly, and just the way we wanted it to! We were able to customize and personalize our ceremony to a format that fit us perfectly, and her ability to help us through that was amazing. So, I might be a little bias as she is my mother – but realistically, she did a wonderful job for me and my husband. In some ways I was worried that marrying off her daughter would be overly emotional and we’d end up with the officiant speaking through sobs – add on the fact that my grandfather (her father) died just 2 days prior to the ceremony, I was extra worried. But my mother is a professional – she even asked a back up to come to the ceremony and be ready to take over just in case the heightened emotions did get to her. She worked with me for about 2 years to write our ceremony and get it just right for us. It was beautiful to hear my words read by my mom.
I had a lot of people comment at the reception at how beautiful mom handled everything – even the hiccups. She handled everything with grace and professionalism. My husband and I were very happy we asked her to do this. I have no doubt she gives as much love and attention to all her brides as she did her own daughter.

Cat is the best! We fell in love with her when we first met her. She was so accommodating and she made us feel so special. Surprise, surprise…she met us on the Stone Arch Bridge, to marry us, on a cold winter night… burrr! It was beautiful and of course the tears were flowing along with champagne later, on the horse & carriage ride back to the Inn! We felt like Cat was a member of our family marrying us. Our only complaint was that our time together, with Cat, went by way too fast!!! My husband and I will never forget our time together with her, and would highly recommend Cat!

Our engagement was short and sweet, we didn’t want an extravagant wedding, something relaxed and small. So when thinking about who we wanted to perform the ceremony, personality was the most important. Someone who made us feel comfortable and who could perform a ceremony like they have known us forever. Cat delivered! She was extremely flexible when meeting with us, and on such short notice! My fiance at the time lived in another state so he skyped in during our meetings. Her support for the military was great and also an important factor in our marriage. I have known Cat’s daughter, Carrie, for years. When we got engaged I remembered that her mother had begun officiating weddings so I called Carrie to talk about it. If we had to do our wedding all over, Cat would be the first call we make. We discussed with her the type of vows we wanted and she was irreplaceable in helping to bring our vision to fruition. Neither of us are particularly eloquent, but she was helpful in the writing process and created a ceremony that was beautiful and personal to our lives. She is an incredibly friendly and welcoming person and made us feel comfortable from the first meeting. On the day of the wedding she exceeded all of our expectations. She arrived early and helped in the preparation in ways we never would have asked. She even helped with the photographs prior to the wedding, holding and carrying items around, assisting the photographers in detail work (smoothing hair/dresses), and anything else that may have been asked. I have no doubt she is like this with any wedding she performs because of her deep commitment to helping make the day special (and not just because I am friends with her daughter). Our wedding day was incredibly memorable, and much of that is thanks to Cat. She is an incredibly friendly and welcoming person and made us feel comfortable from the first meeting. – Tricia

We could never adequately express our appreciation for all Cat did to make our wedding one of the most memorable events of our lives. After discussing what type of vows we wanted, we decided to write something completely unique to us but have Cat read it. She delivered our words so eloquently and with such love I still get choked up thinking of it! Her experience in wedding planning and quick thinking provided the answer to several of the last minute hiccups that came along with a destination wedding. The event ended up going so smoothly you’d have thought we’d been rehearsing it for weeks! Despite being a very intimate ceremony, we had guests from three states and many of them did not know each other. Cats warm presence helped draw people together beginning at the welcome party the night before and extending all the way through the reception. Our wedding would not have been memorable without her!
